In 2008, the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, in collaboration with the Asian Chamber of Commerce, the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver and the Rocky Mountain Employers Council, launched Welcome Denver. This unique and forward-thinking program was designed to help introduce new employees from communities of color to the metro Denver region.

While surveys that were conducted show that Welcome Denver added value to individuals, businesses and the community, the market for the program's services was not as large as first anticipated. As a result, the program has been discontinued and its remaining funds have been dispersed to the founding chambers to provide scholarships that enable diverse candidates to attend leadership programs in metro Denver.
